A presentation by Irit Kulzk (Managing Director of the association Zukunftssicherung Berlin e.V. für Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung) and Andreas Wolter (Managing Director of Phönix Soziale Dienste gGmbH)

How an idea actually turns into an innovative housing project for people with disabilities - two people who successfully realised this together talk about this. The project “Im Mühlenfelde” was born in Berlin from the impulse of parents of people with very different support needs. They live together in small flat-sharing communities with both a high and a very low need for support. Social integration assistance and care services ensure the necessary support in everyday life.

It is important to the advisers to give also a view of the federal participation law and its meaning for new housing projects.

The participation at this evening is free of charge and open for all interested ones. After the talk we will serve pumpkin soup and (against donation) drinks to support a lively exchange afterwards. The organizers very much hope for this in order to give effective impulses for the development of urgently needed housing possibilities in the district of Steinburg.

The evening ist hosted by Netzwerkgruppe Wohnen, Elternverein der Lebenshilfe Steinburg and Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung.
