M.1 Lokal: Filmclub

On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., Filmclub M.1 will screen the film Milch ins Feuer. In her multi-award-winning debut film, Justine Bauer tells the story of a summer in the countryside of Baden-Württemberg—a sensual, quiet tale full of questions about origins, responsibility, and the future.

Stellenausschreibung

M.1 kuratieren

We are very pleased to announce that curator Keumhwa Kim will assume the role of artistic director of M.1 in Hohenlockstedt for 1.5 years, starting in January 2027.

Keumhwa Kim has developed a concept for M.1 that focuses on the region’s waterways. Under the working title (In)Visible Tides, a three-part exhibition project will unfold in which water is viewed through artistic works not only as a unifying element, but also as a contradictory repository that both reveals and conceals, preserves and destroys.

Recently at M.1: Art as Ecological Practice

A heterogenous assembly of artists, researchers, students and local actors: The seasonal curatorial programme 2025/26 combined practical experiences in agroecology with performative, political and sensory explorations of water, food and care.

Between plankton, carp, tomatoes, wild plants and queer field songs, a transversal meeting space emerged - a collective attempt to pluralise lived experiences and open up spaces for a different, shared way of living together.
