Charlotte Perka
Since 1 May 2024, Charlotte Perka has taken on the role of Volunteer Coordinator at the Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung. Her position enables the professional development of volunteer structures within the Stiftung.
The work of the Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung brings together contemporary art, local cultural initiatives, art education, and social practice. The Stiftung’s programmes are already being developed in collaboration with dedicated local individuals and initiatives – especially through the M.1 Lokal programme. Various volunteer-led teams are actively involved in organising projects such as the M.1 Film Club, the M.1 Repair Café, the magazine 255ϛ1, and the Queer Bar – in some cases supporting them, in others co-designing or running them independently. Additionally, volunteers assist Stiftung staff during events such as the open day at the former soldiers’ home (Högerbau).
Volunteer engagement is also central to the upcoming artist residency programme holo:deck. It is envisioned that local residents will take on "sponsorships" for the artists-in-residence, engaging in exchange with them and helping them get to know the area.
To support and strengthen the already diverse volunteer involvement in a sustainable way and enable its professional expansion, Charlotte Perka will serve as the main contact person and coordinator of volunteer structures at the Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung for the next three years.
"With her studies in Social Design at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg and her previous experience as a team assistant at the Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung, Charlotte Perka brings the ideal qualifications for this role. We value her experience in artistic fields that specifically engage with the intersection of local social commitment and artistic practice – skills that are meaningfully complemented by her strong communication abilities. We are especially pleased that this important interface role has been made possible through EU funding. It makes a significant contribution to strengthening our cultural programme with and for the people of the region."
– Ulrike Boskamp, Director of the Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung
The position of Volunteer Coordination is funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Areas, Europe and Consumer Protection, financed through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) from the German Federal Government’s CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027.
